Mr. Chapman serves as Vice Chairman/Capital Markets of RED CAPITAL GROUP, LLC. In this capacity, he assists in the distribution of the firm’s multifamily and health care securities and is responsible for managing the firm’s arbitrage portfolio. A founding partner of the investment banking broker/dealer Meuse, Rinker & Chapman in 1981, Mr. Chapman has been active in underwriting, trading and selling taxable and tax-exempt securities for over 30 years. Upon the sale of the broker/dealer business in 1990 to Bank One, Mr. Chapman became head of RED’s predecessor entity’s capital markets activities, ultimately directing a sales and trading force which numbered approximately 75 professionals. Mr. Chapman had overall responsibility for the distribution of its fixed income products, its risk management, and its mortgage bond and municipal bond arbitrage portfolios. He was instrumental in creating a multifamily mortgage-backed securities arbitrage strategy which has consistently made money over 20 years.
Mr. Chapman serves on the Board of Trustees at The Methodist Theological School of Ohio and The Homeless Family Foundation. He is a member of the Business Advisory Council for The Farmer School of Business and is Chairman of the Board of Governors at The Golf Club.
